Hello! My name is Anthony

I created Habitat Mind Body to help busy become the best versions of themselves through fitness, meditation, and philosophy. I believe that the mind and body are gifts, and it is our duty to understand these gifts in order to navigate life and serve the world around us.

I was born in Indonesia and grew up in Perth. During my time at university, I discovered fitness training and mindfulness meditation. Back then, fitness was about bodybuilding, and my state basketball coach told me I needed to bulk up to take on the bigger defenders, it will be a few years before functional fitness became common knowledge. During this time I had discovered meditation after a recommendation from a friend to help with my insecurities. Both fitness and meditation have been foundational habits that guided me through early adulthood and later became lifelines during a major life crisis.

After finishing my studies, I returned to Indonesia to work in our family business. During this time, I also opened a functional fitness gym (previously CrossFit-affiliated), where I served as head coach since 2012. In 2018, disaster struck when a tsunami and earthquake devastated the city of Palu in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. Our family’s business, along with the city, was destroyed. This led to a period of intense stress as we scrambled to rebuild our lives. After the initial shock, during which I experienced crippling anxiety, it was the habits of mindfulness meditation, functional fitness, and the study and application of Stoic philosophy that helped me survive.

In 2023, I had the opportunity to return to Australia. My wife and I chose Melbourne as our new home, and it is here that I decided to embark on a new journey with Habitat Mind Body. I combine my experience in functional fitness, mindfulness meditation, and my corporate background to help busy and stressed professionals become the version of themselves that can overcome what ever challenges that fate brings onto their path and to make the best out of their experience of life.
