Hello! My name is Anthony 👋🏻
I started Habitat Mind Body to help busy people like you become the best version of themselves—through fitness, meditation, and a bit of ancient wisdom. To me, the mind and body are gifts, and understanding how to care for them is the key to navigating life and making a real impact on the world around us.
Here’s a little about me: I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia and grew up in Perth, WA. During uni, I found my way into fitness and mindfulness meditation. My state basketball coach told me I needed to bulk up to hold my own against bigger defenders, this is how my fitness training began in 2006. Around the same time, a friend introduced me to meditation to help with my insecurities. Those two habits—fitness and meditation—became my anchors. They guided me through those early years and became my lifeline during one of the toughest chapters of my life.
After uni, I went back to Indonesia to work in my family’s power business, supplying electricity to the government. I also had the opportunity to open Garuda Project as a passion business. Garuda Project is a functional fitness (previously CrossFit Garuda) gym in North Jakarta, where I I had been the head coach from 2012. In 2018, disaster struck—a tsunami and earthquake devastated my family’s business and the city of Palu where our main plant was located. Everything fell apart. That time was incredibly hard, and I was overwhelmed with anxiety. But what got me through were the very habits I’d built: mindfulness meditation, functional fitness, and Stoic philosophy. Those tools didn’t just help me survive; they helped me rebuild.
Fast forward to 2023, my wife and I decided to make Melbourne our home. It felt like the right time to take a leap and start something new—something that combined everything I’ve learned. That’s how Habitat Mind Body was born.
Now, I’m here to help people who feel overwhelmed and stuck. Whether it’s crushing stress at work or trying to find time for yourself amidst life’s chaos, I want to help you show up stronger, calmer, and more focused. Life throws a lot our way, but I believe we all have what it takes to not just get through it, but to thrive. Habitat Mind Body is about giving you the tools to do just that. I look forward to meeting you in person and am excited to be on this journey with you.
